I went to the desert for a pilgrimage. My intention was to reflect, and to evaluate who I am at this point in time as a leader, and as a human. I got more than I bargained for!  More hills, rocks, and amazing views than I anticipated. And sore feet. What surprised me most were the leadership insights: on fear, conflict, status, and purpose.

Leadership insight: Tread Softly

My sore feet provided a huge personal insight: tread softly. In managing my own pain, I realised that I take ‘heavy footedness’ into much of life and work. Things are serious, hard, and require determination.

My nerve pain offered me a different way of thinking, and being - on the trail, and in the rest of my world.
