There has been so much talk over the last few pandemic years about RESILIENCE: How much can people tolerate before they reach breaking point?
There have been useful conversations about mental health, an increase in compassion from leaders, looking out for people as we collectively work through tough times.
In systems thinking, 'resilience' is about how much stress the system can take before the forces acting on it and within it transform the system into something new entirely.
This is where we are at on many fronts: floods and fires are showing that the climate may never return to a familiar status quo. Resistance to back-to-office full time is another indicator. The system of our environment and of our workpplaces, and coming soon, our actual work, has moved into an emergent system that we need to contend with.
We need to focus our human development strategy beyond RESILIENCE to ADAPTABILITY. How savvy are we as leaders and workers to accept change and be flexible in our response?
It's the new essential leadership metaskill. Are you ready?
Join us for a day of powerful questions and insights about the skills, frameworks, and insights we need at our seminal event, The Future of Leadership, Friday 24 Feb 2023 in Canberra.
